I love Aveda’s Comfort Tea and ended up spending quite a bit on it, till my girlfriend pushed me to try create it myself from bulk ingredients.
I found this recipe from a forum post dated March 30, 2009 at 10:32PM:
* 1 1/4 C Licorice Root
* 1 C Peppermint Leaves
* 1/8 C Fennel
* 1/8 C Basil Leaves
I bought the ingredients all from iHerb
Delivered it cost me AU$62.88, which I bought 6 months ago and I have plenty left. One jar of the Aveda stuff usually lasts under a month and costs AU$39.95.
For the winter tea version I grate just over half a thumb worth of fresh ginger and put it into the strainer straight away (not in the the container of tea)
Use 100°C water and let it sit for 5 mins or to taste.
