[Meta] Dictation and Comments

So I’m got try something a little different and write entire blog post on my phone while I’m out walking. I started this blog in order document a lot of things that I was learning. I would usually solve a problem and then forget the solution because they were just so many things to remember or it wasn’t used frequently. I would have to go search for it and work out how to do it all over again. So we blog I can search for the things that I do commonly and all the things I might not do commonly but I have to do regularly.

This documentation process itself also helps me embed those things I want into my memory. I hope this blog can help myself but also others who may arrive from a search engine or linked here.
I really wanted to use a static site generator for speed and WordPress sadly includes a lot of resources to just to present page. The blog platform Ghost was another choice and I’m still in the process of trying to get it set up on a shared host but it doesn’t support comments out of the box. I might end up running my own server from now on as it is something I wanted to do for some time. A reason for this is that I love comments and I want to be shown if I’m wrong or if there is a better way to do something. Thanks for reading and commenting!

I’m testing out the various speech recognition software and how they well they work in different environments. I’ll probably end up writing a blog post about this later. I can’t work out how to click on a word to open the choice of corrections on iOS yet. I used to be able to to do it but with these last few update it is made it impossible for me to do so.

Strangely Google voice recognition whether set to UK or Australian English does always not recognise “full stop” as a command to insert that character. Apple’s (probably by Nuance) was the best at taking down this blost post. (I tried it using both)
